School’s out and warm temperatures are finally here. Summer is a great time of year because it is easy to be active! Being outside biking, swimming, and playing sports helps to keep our bodies moving and healthy.
Here are some tips for a healthy summer:
- Stay Hydrated – Be sure to drink a lot of water during the summer months, and even more before and after you exercise.
Use Sunscreen & Stay Cool – Protect yourself and your family from the sun by applying sunscreen generously and frequently. When the heat gets unbearable, go indoors to cool down.
- Eat Fresh from the Farmer’s Market – One of the best parts of summer is fresh fruits and vegetables! Eat a lot of fresh, organic fruits and veggies, if not from your own garden, then the Farmer’s Market (Here is information on the Hutchinson Farmer’s Market and the Shakopee Farmers Market).
- Go Outside & Enjoy Nature – Whether you enjoy camping, reading a book in the hammock, or just a day at the beach, get outside just to experience nature.
- Get some Aerobic Exercise – The summer months give us so many more activities to choose from: biking, swimming, hiking, roller blading, or even tag with your kids at the park! Just get outside and get moving!
- Get Adjusted – With the welcomed addition of new activities to do in the summer, also comes new pressure and strains on your body. Chiropractic care can help you avoid injuries and recover from injuries faster, and Caspers Chiropractic is here to help you be as healthy as possible!
